We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

In other words, we all have exactly as much power as we need to have to become whoever we want to be, learn whatever we want to learn, and do whatever we want to do.

Learn how to shape your habits

When I was first introduced to the power of habits and how they shape almost every aspect of our lives, I was sceptical too.

I’ll explain how that headline is nothing more than an accurate testament to just how much of an impact habits have on our lives.

If you’re struggling to lose weight, you likely have some less-than-helpful habits in place.

If you’re trying to start a new exercise program, but it’s just not working, it’s likely that pre-existing habits are derailing you.

Even things like finding it difficult to get to work on time, complete your tasks at work, or struggling to get traction on a side project that you just know will be your ticket to escaping the 9 to 5 can be attributed to your habits.

In this series, I’m going to show you how to get from where you are now to where you want to be. It’ll be simple. It may not be easy; the power of habits are in their automaticity after all.

It’ll be worth it.

Captain Habits may not be as sexy a superhero name as Iron Man, Captain America, or Black Widow, but a superhero is a superhero and, once your mastery of your habits is complete, there’s nothing that will be out of your reach.

Let’s get started.
